Individual Psychotherapy
“Children not loved for who they are do not learn how to love themselves. Their growth is an exercise in pleasing others, not in expanding through experience. As adults, they must learn to nurture their own lost child.” —Marion Woodman
We live in a world that can be profoundly self-alienating. Traumatic experiences, both acute and ongoing, often teach our bodies and psyches to develop ways to protect ourselves from more pain. The result can be helpful in the short term, but also become their own kind of pain. A cage inside, locking away our own freedom and joy. Usually it takes some crisis of feeling or relationship that brings us into therapy. I see those crises as opportunities, doorways to deeper self understanding and deeper freedom. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, meeting people where they’re at and helping them build the internal resilience and structure needed to heal.
I work with individuals and teens ages 13 and up who are facing challenges like: job stress, creative blocks, relationship struggles, self esteem, trauma, depression, anger, anxiety, gender identity, spirituality, sexuality, major life transitions, and grief and loss. Poly, kinky and LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Rates are $180/50 min for individual. Payment is due when we meet, and you can pay by cash, check, PayPal or Venmo.
I don't accept insurance. There are a limited number of slots available for a sliding scale depending on financial need. Things happen, so one last minute session cancellation is no charge. After that, I charge the full session fee unless you've given me 24 hours notice.
